Happy new year ladies and gentlemen!

So, as a developing and productive member of society, I have come to terms with my nature as being and have made the solemn resolution to devote my life to improving and attending to my hedonistic consumerist lifestyle.

Joking aside, a personal anecdote: My parents (and grandparents) have raised me with the mentality that everything that I need, my family can provide for me. Money for postgraduate education? "Don't worry about it, we will take care of you". I've lived on a cushion of my parent's support in the belief that one day, I'm going to bloom and become widely successful and hardworking for my future family.

Well, I think the day has come that I not only think about what kind of future I want to live, but also to take active steps (even if they were in completely tangent directions) to doing something - to get into the feel of pursuing goals in life.

So in light of all this, I want to pursue and develop my writing skills by finding people who need some thoughts or ideas put across, and to put these skills to good use by making money of it. And I could use your help.

I have experience with writing in magazines and newspapers (have a look see at Ateneo-Celadon's publication Chinoy during the '08-'10 schoolyears), as well as with other hidden and unremarkable places during my High School years. I'm equally capable in feature writing, fictional works, and short-and-sweet write-ups and slogans.

Basically, I would accept any writing job for the sake of building up skills, experience, and a solid portfolio. Last of all, don't worry, I'm not going to charge money like some dumbed up idiot. Experience and learning first, moolah comes a moderately far second.

Ok guys, first things first:

Sanggunian has let loose the announcement that Classes for Ateneo are OFFICIALLY SUSPENDED for Monday and Tuesday. Source is our good friend ChawChaw who came from school.

Now, to the business of getting some help out:

We're trying to assemble as much goods as possible to help the people out from typhoon Ondoy (and likely, the typhoon that will soon follow in a couple of days - or so I heard). 

Primarily, what will be needed are FOOD and MEDICINES. BLANKETS would be nice to have as well. 

The goal is to get as much of these as possible on the doorstop of the MVP Building in Ateneo de Manila University by TUESDAY.

Consequently, our response now will be two-fold:

1. Firstly, we're going to need alot these materials. If you can find it in your family's hearts (and cupboards/bodegas/wherever you keep your stuff), please do so. If your family's hearts (cupboards and bodegas included) are consequently empty or NEEDED BY YOUR FAMILY (obv, we dont want you to give up your last potato chip), then perhaps you can help us out by donating some FUNDS for the relief.

2. Secondly, we're going to need people to move these materials. So some system to drive around and grab all the donated stuff, or perhaps collection areas for moving are in order.

Please, please please, if you have the following resources, and your parents can help us in this we would absolutely appreciate this, help us find a way.
